The project was created starting from the book ‘Il lanciatore Scomparso’ by Beppe Carelli. The book consists in a collection of different stories selected by the author and united through the common thread of baseball. Each section tells a different theme, ranging from detective stories to the biographies of legendary players such as Joe ‘Shoeless’ Jackson, up to curiosities about sport in Italy and its traditions throughout the world.  The hardest part of this project was therefore not only to return a book that had an aesthetic faithful to that of the ‘Old Game’, but also to be able to create a strong visual thread, coherent between one story and another. I decided to create a small sports memorabilia collection, which would collect gamecards, postcards and vintage stickers.
The project was also explained in details and analyzed through it’s creation process in the thesis book ‘Il lanciatore scomparso: progettazione di un libro visivo’.
