'Dinner is served' takes the shape of a banquet of sugar pearls, elegantly and meticoulously arranged. This ha been my 'diet' over the past years, only, instead of pearls, i consumed medications. As someone living with health issues, I often found myself wondering, while taking my daily pills: How many have I taken over the years?How many of these am I taking just to counteract the side effects of other? Through a bittersweet metaphor, this project seeks to unveal the overwhelming, often hidden, reality of living with ongoing health challenges. The sugar pearls, color-coded to represent different types of medications, symbolize the variety and quantity of treatments I've relied on. The metaphor of food, something consumed daily, creates a cognitive dissonance: the pearls are visually inviting yet paradoxically inedible. This contrast highlights the complex, often uneasy relationship between health, medicine, and the rituals of care required to sustain life.
